HOPEwalk going virtual in 2020!

We’ve always been blessed to have a large number of walkers to support our event and each other. However, this large attendance makes it difficult to socially distance.

Rather than just outright cancelling the event, we’d like to make it virtual this year. Here’s how it will work:

  1.     Register your team as you always do by clicking register on the top bar of this page.
  2.     Feel free to gather your team in person or virtually in a manner of your choosing. Walk around your neighborhood, in a park, or at a place meaningful to you.
  3.     On the day of the virtual walk, September 26 at 10:00 am CDT, we will release a short video presentation (link to follow on our website) that will be similar to our usual walk presentation.

We will still have walk t-shirts available to those who raise $20. There will be a pickup location near downtown Cedar Rapids the week preceding Sept 26th. There is an option to select your t-shirt size when you register to create a team or join a team.

Memory wall

We encourage you to post photos of your loved one or notes of encouragement on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CedarRapidsHOPEwalk) as your contribution to our virtual memory wall.

Creating Community

An important part of our event is supporting each other. Feel free to share pictures of your virtual walk to our Facebook page or using hashtag #HOPEwalk2020 in the media app of your liking.

Thank you for your continued support of our event. We look forward to seeing you all in person next year.

Warm Regards,

HOPEwalk Committee.
