Jenny Groothuis (11/8/1974 – 6/29/2014) is loved and missed by many. She was a wife for 19 years, mother of 15 children (8 adopted from Africa), beloved daughter, sister & best friend to her twin sisters, and a mentor & friend to so many. Jenny lived a life of bold and contagious love, and those who knew her were changed for the better. Her 39 years on earth were too short, but she lived those years to the fullest. Her long battle with bipolar disorder ended tragically two years ago. We believe that raising awareness and addressing the stigma of mental illness/ suicide is extremely important for healing and change to occur. So we walk in honor of our much-loved Jenny, a beautiful soul gone too soon.
